XTERRA treadmills have adjustable rear leveling feet. Treadmills that are not level can cause misalignment of the belt, uneven belt wear, and possible injuries for the user. If the treadmill is placed on an uneven surface, adjusting the rear feet can help, but may not completely compensate for extremely uneven surfaces. Need assistance? See our article: “Where to Put Your Treadmill.”
To level your treadmill:
- Power on your treadmill. Ensure that your treadmill is correctly calibrated per your treadmill model’s specifications. Need assistance? See our article: “How to Calibrate Your Treadmill.”
- After ensuring that your machine is properly calibrated, power off your treadmill prior to making any leveling adjustments.
- Using at least a two-foot (24 inch) level tool, place the level flat so that it lies along the length of your treadmill. Check the bubble within the center vial of the level to determine if your treadmill is level.
- Make leveling adjustments via the two (2) twistable leveling feet located at the rear of your treadmill (one foot on each side). Each foot can be twisted higher or lower depending on the leveling adjustments needed.
- After each adjustment, check the bubble within the center vial of the level until the bubble is floating within the center marks of the vial. Your treadmill is now level and can resume normal operation.
